Job Description:
A position has become available for a Bid Manager based from the Leicestershire office of a leading Civil Engineering contractor.

This role incorporates that of a Bid manager and a Technical Writer.

The successful applicant with be responsible for:


*Identifying level of required bid activity and resource requirements
*Develop strategy to improve our chances of winning the work
*Agree and allocate resources for enquiries in conjunction with Regional Business Unit Leader
*Liaise with operations/design/commercial/procurement
*Develop relationships with Client
*Accumulate market intelligence
*Co-ordinate engineering design solutions
*Co-ordinate tender documentation/submission package
*Attend new contract meeting following contract award
*Identify and analyse risks and produce risk register.
*Attend tender settlement meetings ensuring all relevant cost information is available for presentation and complete the tender as instructed.
*Maintain regular contact with departments to obtain feedback on costs, technical and commercial performance.
*The undertaking of a range of specialist administrative responsibilities aimed at producing high quality proposals.
*Assistance with Pre Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ)
*Write, edit and review material for submissions


The ideal candidate would possess:

*Experience within the following sectors: roads, bridges, ground engineering and waterways \ river works
*Strong communication, interpersonal skills, organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
*Ability to work as part of a team and Manage where required.
*PC competent
*Flexible/adaptable approach to work Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and bills of quantities
*Ability to identify, understand and interpret risk/opportunities contained within tender documents
*Ability to co-ordinate tender submission documents
*Experience and knowledge relevant to site experience of construction methods.
*Very high standard of writing, copy editing and proofreading skills
*Software skills: Word, Excel spreadsheet, Outlook e-mail Software skills: risk analysis Estimates - general understanding and ability to interpret Project programmes and construction requirements
