| Operating on a shift basis including regular night and weekend working You will ensure the effective coordination and control of a section of the tunnelling works. You will report to the Shift Team Leader and supervise the shift engineers. Responsible for resolving technical issues, developing engineering solutions, ensuring the quality of the works, planning including producing the weekly work programmes and monitoring progress, managing survey activities, ordering and calling off of materials, ensuring quality control systems are implemented, managing local health, safety & environmental issues including the development of safe systems of work and risk assessments. Experience and qualifications A minimum of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in civil engineering, mining, geotechnical engineering, mining surveying or a related subject. Holder of a relevant CSCS Card. Previous experience of working underground in the civil engineering or mining industries and knowledge of wet sprayed concrete lining systems for tunnel construction is required. |
