Grand Designs under fire from contractors over health and safety. TV show Grand Designs has come under fire from contractors angry at regular scenes in the programme that appear to show poor health and safety management.
Contributors to an online discussion were particularly upset about an episode last month, which showed the construction of a barrel vaulted green roof on the sustainable house in Kent, which suffered a partial collapse during the filming of the programme.
A spokeswoman for TalkbackThames, a producer of the programme, said: "Grand Designs takes health and safety issues extremely seriously and programme makers follow rigid health and safety procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of anyone involved in the making of the programme.
